In order to borrow books from the English Department library, users need a valid student identity card, a library card from the Zentralbibliothek, or from another Swiss university library. Student cards have to be validated either by the Zentralbibliothek, the English Department Library, or any other Swiss university library.
New students who are not yet registered with a Swiss university library are required to fill in the online registration form and then report to the library staff to have their library account registered.
The standard loan period for books is four weeks. This period is automatically extended twice if the book is not recalled by another user. The item can be extended manually three more times online in the user account, provided that there is no reservation. The option for a manual extension is also possible after a recall or a reminder. Extensions beyond 168 days are not possible.
