Lizentiat
General Description
The Lizenziat course of studies is no longer open to new students, since the Bologna process replaces the Lizenziat degrees with B.A. and M.A. programmes. Students who are already matriculated in the Lizenziat-Programme and wish to graduate with a Lizenziat have until the end of the Spring Semester 2015 to do so.
Transfer from the Lizenziat to the B.A. programme is possible, but recommended only under certain circumstances, and only possible at certain stages. For more information, see the FAQ page.
The study guide for Lizenziat students can is available below for download. This outlines the regulations for major and minor options in English Literature and Linguistics.
Please note that many of the Proseminar titles have changed due to the introduction of the B.A. courses. As a general rule, students who need Proseminar III should attend any Bachelor Seminar on Shakespeare. For Proseminar IV, any Bachelor Seminar listed as Literaturwissenschaft Theorie in the Vorlesungsverzeichnis can be taken.
Lizenziat students who still need to fulfil Seminar level requirements should ensure that they take a Masters level Research Seminar and NOT a Bachelor seminar. Credit cannot be given for the latter at Lizenziat Seminar level.
