In this workshop, we explore the basics of PsychoPy, an opensource interactive experiment building environment that allows you to customize and run a wide range of experiments in the behavioral sciences. This brief workshop is aimed at PhD and MA students who plan to run, e.g., psycholinguistic or cognitive experiments. To ensure we all gain hands-on experience, we will develop two of our own experiments, one with a psycholinguistic and one with a sociolinguistic focus.
No prior programming experience is required.
We will cover the following topics:
Basics of PsychoPy and how to use it
Builder interface of PsychoPy
(Randomized) Block designs
Adding (trial-by-trial) feedback
English (and/or German)
