Aubrey Thomas de Vere, "Written at Vevey, September 15, 1856" (1856)

Please contact us at scis-zjjf@es.uzh.chif you'd like to do a recording of this poem.

Editorial Note

Vevey is referenced in the title, but Clarens and the Château de Chillon – the latter made famous, among other things, by Byron's The Prisoner of Chillon (1816) – also feature prominently in the text, which is why the poem is 'located' in all three places on the interactive map.
