Mansi Tiwari, M.A.

  • Teaching and Research Assistant to Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Bronfen

Mansi Tiwari is a research and teaching assistant at Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Bronfen’s Chair of English and American Studies at the University of Zurich. She holds a BA in English Literature and Linguistics, Comparative Literature Studies, and Banking and Finance, as well as an MA in English Literature and Linguistics and Economic History, both from the University of Zurich. Next to her academic interests, Mansi has worked in communications and journalism and has participated in theatre and short film projects.

PhD Project

Mansi is currently developing her PhD project, tentatively titled “Beyond the Human Eye: Seeing Subjects in the 21st Century”, focusing on the emergence of new ways of seeing in contemporary media. Within the field of visual studies, her dissertation is interested in examining the new parameters that define vision, visuality, and the seeing subject in 21st century media. By placing literary texts and films in conversation, this dissertation aims to infer the epistemological boundaries of new scopic regimes.
