The Swiss Centre of Irish Studies @ the Zurich James Joyce Foundation
The Swiss Centre of Irish Studies @ the Zurich James Joyce Foundation (SCIS-ZJJF) was established on May 1, 2019 and aims to:
- reflect and strengthen the unique role of the Zurich James Joyce Foundation as a cultural landmark and place of research of international importance;
- increase the visibility of Irish Studies at Swiss universities and beyond;
- promote interdisciplinary collaborations within Switzerland, between individual scholars as well as with partner institutions (e.g. the world-renowned Stiftsbibliothek in St. Gallen);
- facilitate scholarly exchange with members of European networks, as well as academics working across the globe.
In July 2019, the SCIS-ZJJF was accepted as a member of the European Federation of Associations and Centres of Irish Studies (EFACIS).
The SCIS-ZJJF is generously supported by the Embassy of Ireland, Switzerland.
