Guest lecture on 22.10.2025: "When Tie Strength Matters - Network Theory and its Application in Social Media Linguistics"
Rahel Albicker from the University of Eastern Finland is giving a guest lecture as part of Carlos Hartmann's seminar on “Social Media Linguistics.” Rahel Albicker is part of Professor Mikko Laitinen’s COMET project, which focuses on Twitter as a huge sociolinguistic network. Her guest lecture, delivered remotely via Zoom, will be entitled "When Tie Strength Matters - Network Theory and its Application in Social Media Linguistics" and will showcase some of the team’s work so far. You can attend the lecture in Room PLH 5 (Plattenstrasse 47 in Zürich) on October 22nd, 2025, from 12.15 to 1.45 pm.
