Job Advertisment: Tutor Introduction to English Linguistics
The job of an IntroLing tutor is to give six tutorials throughout the spring semester, each session being approximately 90 minutes. The tutorials are optional sessions that our IntroLing students can take to practice skills like how to find a paper topic and formulate research questions, how to find data for a research paper, how to work with corpora/questionnaires, how to write a paper, etc. All the material for the tutorials (e.g. slides, exercises) is already available, so tutors wouldn’t have to spend a lot of time preparing their tutorials. In addition, since tutors can give the tutorials in pairs of two, the workload can easily be divided among them. Best of all: tutors will be remunerated for their work, so in addition to gaining teaching experience, they will also get paid.
