The Alps are 'only' a metaphorical presence here – and as in similar cases, the reference could of course just as well be to the French, Italian, or Austrian Alps, and not the Swiss. Nevertheless, it is plausible that some readers at least will think of the Swiss Alps, which is why the poem is included here.
