The science fiction series WESTWORLD (2016-2022) is one of the most discussed TV formats of recent years. The conflict zones, but even more so the dissolving boundaries between humans and androids, together with the explorative aesthetics and fragmented-rhythmic storytelling, offer much material for analysis from different perspectives. This volume is the first publication to address all four seasons and new digital narrative forms, such as transmedia rewriting, technological mediation, and the diverse varieties of seriality. Through its interdisciplinary layout and interrogation of the interfaces between humans and non-human entities such as machines, animals, or entirely different species and forms of existence, it strikes at the heart of current debates around posthumanism, the Anthropocene, and ecocritical issues in art and literature.
