Students are required to have passed "Language Skills and Culture: Introduction" and "Writing Skills and Media Analysis".

Content

This course is the continuation of the Writing Skills and Media Analysis module. It will continue the contemporary media focus, while delving more deeply into cultural analysis, with reference to a specific, exploratory topic.

Learning outcomes

Students can critically analyse media texts with reference to a specific theme or body of theory, and can develop their analysis within the framework of an academic essay. They can present a nuanced and supported interpretation in cohesive academic English (C1 level).
