Sample Timetables Track "English Literature and Linguistics": Full-Time Students

Disclaimer: The applicable legal regulations can be found in the framework ordinance (Rahmenverordnung) and the program regulation (Studienordnung) for the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. The information below is for illustrative purposes only and should be regarded as a recommendation. In case of any contradictions between this document and the legal regulations or between the German version and a translation, only the legal regulations or the German version, respectively, have legal bearing.

Full-Time Students: Three Examples

Important: It is not mandatory to complete one's studies in four semesters. (Students with additional requirements, i.e. 'Auflagen,' will almost certainly need five or more semesters to complete their studies.)

Note: None of these sample timetables are binding; they are intended as examples or 'templates.'

Sample Timetable for Full-Time Students (Example 1)

  • This is a sample timetable for students who want to start with both Literature and Linguistics in the first semester of their Master studies.
  • Students can start their studies either in the fall or in the spring semester.
  • In the case of two-semester modules, the total number of ECTS points is 'spread out' over two semesters.
  • In principle, it is possible to go abroad at any point. However, the final semester is not ideal for a stay abroad. Please consult the Stay Abroad section of the UZH English Department website for more details.
